Once upon a time

'Once upon a time' is inspired by antique books and old forgotten tales. When creating this artwork I had to think how I was when I was a child. I loved it how my brother and one of my sisters read the tales from Hans Christian Andersen for me. Or the tales from the brothers Grimm.

I'm glad with the stockpicture from the woman. Her face is so expressive and powerfull, same goes for her eyes. All the faces in this artwork are created from the same stockpicture. In some of my other works you'll find this 'repeating' effect also. Her make-up and hat are brushes. Same goes for the decoration on the book. As always I used a texture to increase the contrast and colors.
