This lovely girl listens to the name Aline. I found her a couple of weeks ago while I logged in at Deviantart. She was busy with uploading her gallery, so you can say that I caught her redhanded.
I left a short message on her account in which I expressed my appreciation for her stock. I can remember that she responded in a nice way. When I found this specific picture I knew that this would be ´the one´ that would be one of my future artworks. And finally, here it is.
I could have finished it earlier, but I felt sooooo lazy. Like some of you know, I created my current ID instead of finishing an artwork. But hey, somehow taking that short break helped.
I got a lot of questions about my technique. But please don´t get mad about the fact that I never go into details. In some of my future journals I´ll explain why. Anyhow, this one is created with brushes only. Brushes where stamped with solid colours, but I also brushed with textures and patterns. Light, shadow, sharpness and contrast are one of the most significant elements of my work. Another thing that can be recognized as mine is the use of ´old´ and antique colors. Ofcourse I have some favourite brushes. Some of them will return in each artwork. Ha, ha, I just like those ravens.
Just one more thing about Aline. She received the famous ´one week subsribtion´ from DA. But I know that she want´s something more permanent. So if you can afford it, please donate her a subscribtion.

Wow... You did it a great job my friend... You practically made all again! Except her face (well, you erased the point line and added that beauty misx of things in her eyes)... This is incredible... You really were mixing things here man... This is completely different from the original... Glad you placed the link to the original, to see what you changed... Incredible... So baroque... Congratulaions man!
Ah yeah... The watermark is absolutely annoying (all of them)... I think it has to be more in harmony with the image, that just seems like a stamp. Think about this: your name and the title, and your logo harmonically over the image will give it an extra touch of elegance and keeping your watermark visible and irremovable...
you have a real knack for brushwork, wish i could say the same about myself though! great texturing too, she has a great pose and you did a great job working with it, i really like the detail you put around her eyes
Damn your technique just drives me insane with jealousy. Beautiful work John....the blending is flawless, the color is superb and fits the piece perfectly, and I want your brushes, then I want you to come and teach me how you do it.
Oh, I am so so SO happy of seeing something new from you...
I like that thing on your works where you always transform the clothes of the girls with your brushes... makes me think 'oh she is so near the nature, as fairy, as one of the princess I was used to imagine when I was a child....'

John,
Your work is excellent, as usual. Technique comes with practice. Style comes from inside.

What would you do, if you knew you couldn't fail?
Why haven't you at least tried?
